Gaius Rapide 3 at CES 2023 with Tier-1 Drivetrain Supplier Valeo Group

In collaboration with Valeo Group, Gaius’ tier-1 French powertrain manufacturer, Gaius Automotive proudly presented Rapide 3 at CES 2023. Gaius’s commercial

electric three-wheel cargo vehicle received overwhelmingly positive feedback from exhibitors and the audience.

Micro-mobility is a growing trend in the global logistics and postal sectors, especially in the European market. Since vehicle electrification plays a vital role in Net

Zero directives, governments strongly encourage enterprises and the public to adopt electric micro-mobility through tax incentives, infrastructure expansion,

establishing electric vehicle fleets in public sectors, etc. The market is expected to reach USD 1.8 billion by 2025.

Rapide 3 is equipped with a customized 1,000-liter cargo box holding 3 to 4 times more weight and volume of cargo compared to two-wheel vehicles. With a 48V

Valeo eAccess powertrain, Rapide 3 has a peak wheel torque of 624Nm providing impressive performance, especially useful for powering heavy loads uphill. With

14kWh of energy on board, the vehicle’s over 200km of range differentiates it from the competition. Moreover, the unique 35-degree tilting system ensures vehicle

safety while traveling at a high speed. Therefore, Rapide 3 enables fleets to increase their efficiency, improve their services and lower their operating costs.

Application tests with Taiwanese logistics customers confirmed Rapide 3’s ability to deliver 4 times more cargo than a scooter. As a result of this increased capacity,

vehicles require less frequent trips to reload at the distribution center, translating into a sizeable gain in operating efficiency.

A fleet management system developed by Gaius provides up-to-date vehicle location, operational statusand maintenance data. The intelligent management system

assists fleet operators choose the optimum route, manage charging, and make sure all vehicles are always ready.

The first batch of Rapide 3 vehicles was recently delivered to clients DHL and Momo in Taiwan. Currently, Gaius is running performance and operation trials with

potential overseas customers, and expects to begin sales in Q2, 2023.
